So, I was not going to do this, but I decided I would. Mainly because I kept thinking of things I thought I had wrote and people knew, before realizing that even though I had written it, no one read it because I deleted those things. So, HEY! I have thoughts. Thoughts about the new iCarly episode that is actually ON youtube, as opposed to the new Big Time Rush and/or its new music video, which IRKS ME iHave a Hot Room. There are things I LOVE, and things that, upon reflection, I really do not like. So I shall pro-con list it.
Things I Loved!
- Everything Spencer said. Jerry was in serious top form and AMAZING and HILARIOUS. The are a ton of lines that, after I rewatch it like four times (or less, or more) I shall randomly quote ALL THE TIME. "Is it Yom Kippur already?" *giggles in excess* And what's better is that I get to add to it some Jerry/Jennette feelings of mine on the subject, to anyone that will listen. :D
- The firefighters know who Spencer is. Of course they do.
- The Spencer and Freddie and Sam relationship. I really love how well this episode showed how much Spencer has a relationship with either/both of them, Carly's best friends, in the complete absense of Carly. I really, really love it. And to a lesser extent Gibby and T-Bo, but mostly, y'know - Sam and Freddie!!!
- Real world elements!! Spencer talked to an insurance guy! In the building of Carly's room there were professionals! Carpenters and electricians and people to do things that Spencer most definitely should not be trusted to do!
- A year ago for Carly's birthday when she turned, what? 14/15? I think 15. She went to a petting zoo. And presumably would have very much enjoyed it, it's just the goat which made it unpleasant. And no matter how much Dan might gloat about the unknown being better than the known (Hey, you know what that should apply to also? SAM'S MOM) I don't really care, because I really loved that.
- Carly and Spencer in their big brother - little sister relationship! They're adorable and the consistency for which they are convincingly related makes me super, super happy. :D
- Sam tells Spencer that his long hair makes him look like a girl. He is upset for a millisecond and very much denies it. :D (And on a related note - Jerry cut his hair!!!! I'm not terribly partial to it being SO short, but I've been thinking it's too long for quite a while now.)
- Carly's new room includes a trampoline to her bed, and I very much hope that those in fandom who are smart will utilize this to its fullest potential, and that is its smut potential. :D She also has a super awesome touchscreen closet that was clearly designed by Stella Malone stolen from Disney's JONAS supposed to be snazzy, but I find to be not all that.
- Spencer drinks milk in the shower, and doesn't want Carly to change him. *giggles*
- Sam speaks fairly fluent Italian. Who knew?
Things I Really Hated
- "Thank you Great Grammy!" "We really should've gone to her funeral." "I know." OH MY GOD YOU GUYS, THE SHAYS ARE TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE PEOPLE.
- Spencer forgot to put in Gibby's breathing tube. Oh my God, you guys. *winces*
- "... on this, the most special of days?" Way to be conceited, Carly. Although it fits in with the rest of the episode, that's AWFUL.
- The trampoline, while awesome, to be sure, is surely to be put to an evil use by Seddies everywhere in that Sam jumped on Freddie, injuring him, and it doesn't help that it's for a bed either. And I already know this to be true, because there is already more than one GIF of it, and it disgusts me. *shudder*
- Spencer threw a grapefruit at Gibby's grandfather. WTF?
- So if Gibby's grandfather's name is Mr. Gibson, does that mean Gibby's name is Gibby Gibson? Seriously? *facepalm*
- Everyone has to wish Carly a happy birthday at school, to the point of (assumed) violence. Really? I know Carly was all "Oh, it doesn't matter" - but she was really too happy to see what Sam was doing, and quite frankly that disgusts me. And other stuff like it, just urgh.
- Carly worked for 12 hours? During the school year? Isn't that illegal?
- They spent the entire 82 thousand dollars. All of it on Carly's room. Not only is it ridiculous because as Spencer said, they rent the place, but it does absolutely everything to inflate Carly already HUGE ego that she's better than everyone, and that she deserves all of this. And I'm sure part of the reason that so much of it could be spent was because they did it all in one day, which brings in the question of rush service for those professionals, and the planning had to be vague at best, if at all, which I also really dislike, and maybe Carly really wanted more input on what became of her room? Was it really necessary for it to be a surprise and get it done in a day? I don't think so. Not to mention, isn't it still fairly standard canon that Spencer isn't really a known artist, he hasn't made a name for himself, and couldn't they use some of that money better?
- Sam speaks fluent Italian. Not only is this the beginning of season four, and a very strange time (at least as far as tweendom is concerned - a drama on a major network not so much, I suppose) to establish that. And I'm really just very sick of Sam's mom and her many boyfriends being the excuse for everything anymore. I would even settle for just blaming it on her mom, but it's been all about her mom being a whore getting around and her many boyfriends, and so much dislike.
