Pimpin' Mah Ship!! Canon Part 1

author_abzPimp Your Ship!! This is part two of my Sam/Spencer picspam, but this is part one of the canon section. As canon evidence has been growing, I may have to make it a three part canon exercise, but for now it’s one of two canon posts. Part One can be found here.
I apologize in advance for the pics being too large and taking up a lot of space (if they are – I’m not sure how this will work), and for the not-good quality of the majority of images. I’d rather not talk about where I ended up screen-capping a lot of these from.*winces*
Episodes covered today will include iLike Jake, iNevel, iPromise Not to Tell, iSpy A Mean Teacher, iHeart Art, iHatch Chicks, iGot a Detention … and since my last picspam there may have been something on the online content that popped up and I may have had to include it.
Without further ado – Sam/Spencer Picspam part two!!
iLike Jake
I decided to start of the picspam with something pretty.
I’m always blown away with how amazing Sam looks here, and then I always wish that Spencer could have seen her.
But he can’t. Which makes me sad. And yes, we do have the fun little exchange of Sam helping Spencer “drink” and the explanation of his contraption (which never does get attached to “Splatterman,” you’ll notice) – which isn’t much, and I would never have included it – but Sam just looks really pretty and I had to share. :D
iNevel
I saw this episode after I had started shipping Spam even though chronologically it came before the episode that made me ship Spam. I was blown away and amused all at once.
Sam likes to chill at the Shay loft. All the time. Even when they’re not home. This warms my heart and is actually on my list of reasons. *g* I love it.
She’s even confident enough to turn the heat up. Take note: she turns the heat up.
But Spencer’s butter-sculpture!! It melted!!
Spencer: Why?!?!
Sam: I told you not to turn the heat up!
Awww. Sam won’t own up to the fact she was the one to turn up the heat when she sees Spencer and how upset he gets. And she blames Freddie – because if Spencer is going to get mad at anyone – she wants him to get mad at Freddie. Not her. Never her.

Freddie: Nevel’s only eleven?
Sam: Yes, now stop speaking.
No, I am not kidding. Sam says her punch-line (which I’m sure made not just me smile) and then the camera cuts to Spencer smiling and very pleased and amused with what Sam just said. I’m always really, really surprised that we get that shot – like, yeah, Spencer can think it’s funny, but they cut to a frame of just him when they could’ve just kept it mainly on the three of them and had the “audience” laughter going, it probably would’ve been the same. But we get to see Spencer, all smileyand sexy and alluring all from Sam. All for Sam. I’m all warm and fuzzy inside, and I still can’t believe it’s so early in season one that it happens. *is overwhelmed*
iPromise Not to Tell
I had been seeped in my ship for a while by the time, re-watching this episode, the shippy moments started to pop out at me.Or I read waaaaay into them. Either way.
Sam: How do you turn this lamp on?

Spencer: RAMPU!!
*gigglefit* No, Spencer – shouting out “lamp” in Japanese to turn the lamp on as Sam would like won’t scare Carly at all – your little sister who you are comforting in a hug right now. No, really – it’s totally okay. *g*Note: Sam’s question > Carly’s happiness
What’s wrong with Carly?
Sam: She’s a little upset.
Spencer: Why?
Carly: Because hobos can’t afford cable!
I really just love their interaction(s) here. I can’t explain it. And the whole thing is “ruined” with Carly’s shouting.What? No, I don’t hate that line… *whistles*
Spencer: Well did you ankle shake on it?
Carly: Yes!
Spencer: Oh my god.
Sam: What is this world coming to when an ankle shake means nothing anymore?
Spencer understands the importance of the ankle shake! He KNOWS.
I’m not sure which category this would fit under, other than AWESOME and EPIC WIN.
iSpy A Mean Teacher
I’m actually really glad I saw this one after I started shipping. If I saw it first I would have starting shipping then, and my outlook would be completely different and of a different slant, and probably less serious – and I like how I am now.
First: girlfriend look-a-like. Do I need to say more?
Spencer: Hey, thanks for doing this.
Sam: No prob.
*brain explodes* Of course you can’t tell with these puny caps, but when Spencer swings open the door and says, “thanks for doin’ this” in that voice with that look – is your first thought NOT booty call? ISN’T IT??!!! And then it’s Sam and you go O.O and you’re very, very intrigued…
Then you find out she’s his sculpture model – instead of his girlfriend whom he broke up with – which might not actually be better. We’ve all seen Titanic. There are the stereotypes. Like, how do we know she’s not going to start stripping off her clothes to model? That’s what happens in serious art courses! Your model is a naked person. I’m just sayin’.
Sam: So how do I be a sculpture model?
Strip? *g*
Spencer: You just sit over there – and do nothing.
Sam: Cool, just like school!
Having Sam come over and do nothing is so very, very awesome. Of course she’s willing. I also love that she compares it to school. And Spencer’s little amused smirk. He loves all of her little comments. XD
*G* She is his inspiration. Oh, I love this scene so, so much. *grins like an idiot* There are no words. Just – look at the pictures. The pretty, pretty pictures and listen to them. They have a thousand words to say, y’know? Oh, Jerry and Jennette are just amazing. XD
Spencer: So this is seriously the first time you’ve ever modeled for a sculpture?
*giggle* You know, Spencer – I agree that Sam/Jennette is pretty enough to be a sculpture model, and she does give you inspiration… but do you seriously think that a fourteen year old does a lot of sculpture modeling? How many artists could she possibly know other than you?
Awww! He’s so excited to show her what he’s done. XD (And to be honest I’m kind of glad he sculpted a tuna – because it looks like he’s using play-do, and I don’t think Sam should be sculpted out of play-do. Actually – he IS using play-do.)
Sam: I thought you were sculpting me for the past three hours!
Wow. Three hours. I’m impressed. And happy. XD And… heee. Sam and Spencer bonding time, alone time… and fairly early in the series too. :D It’s just really awesome. I don’t really have to explain it, do I? Especially with…
Spencer: I started off sculpting you, but then I starting thinkin’ about aquariums and then … he happened.
Sam: Then why am I still here?
Spencer: I get lonely.
XD Wow. I’m not sure there are words. Just a lot of flailing. Let’s just say I’m thrilled that Spencer makes Spencer not-lonely. It warms my heart. Just – awwwww. ♥ ♥
Of course, Sam gets very frustrated with Spencer – but she doesn’t leave. She’s still willing to stay and keep Spencer company. XD If she gets to eat something (which she does, and it’s what she’s doing when Carly calls her). Did I mention I love this part of the episode? I do. I really, really do.

From a “Guess What I’m Giving You Clues About”
Sam: Okay! We get it – the subject can be anything, let’s move on.
Classic Sam. I enjoy this very much. Spencer on the other hand…
Spencer: Well that was a little rude, but I’ll continue because I’m good people.
Spencer is not so happy. He does not like it when Sam is mean to him. He expects more out of Sam. Which plays EXACTLY into one of my favorite reasons for shipping. I sound like a broken record to myself, but Spencer – despite knowing her so well (which – yes, he does) and knowing her anger issues and how mean she is to people on a regular basis – he expects better – at least as far as he is concerned. It’s… it makes me happy. Carly doesn’t expect that much from her. Sam and Spencer’s relationship is just… different from everyone else’s relationship. I’ll stop talking about it now though – because I’ll come back to that.
And now back to our scheduled canon:
iHeart Art
I originally loved this episode simply because it is a Spencer main-plot, and as it seems with a lot of first season episodes, or just episodes in general – with re-watching it became a lot more Spam filled. A LOT more Spam filled. This is serious business type shipping stuff. I love it to death and it gives me warm fuzzies. Oh – and if you haven’t seen the episode, you might be kinda lost, because I’m not really… explaining it. Just the Spam.
Spencer freaks about the possibility of getting his art showcased – great, unknown artists.
Carly: You’re a great artist.
Sam: And you’re definitely unknown.
Spencer: Thank you.
Heeee. I love Spencer – Sam interactions. So much. And again with the Spencer being sad and all offended with her comments. Not majorly, but enough. Again, the lovable Sam and Spencer dynamic. He doesn’t react in the way that anyone else does, ever – about anything. (This is also probably Jerry not being able to resist Jennette’s charm and trying to make her laugh during the takes. But that’s another shipping matter. :D )
Sam: Who’s Harry Joiner?
Spencer: *screams*
I love Spencer. Also – Sam should know Spencer better, and his favorite artist of all time. He is shocked she does not know this. She should be ashamed of herself. (and she does correct this error by learning and proving this later on in the episode – among other admirable things)
Sam: All creative people worry their stuff’s lame, it’s an artist thing.
1 - This is very, very true.
2- See? I told you Sam knew Spencer. Or, wait – did I? Well – now I have. Sam knows Spencer. And Carly’s idea to call up Harry Joiner is because of this. So really – this episode comes from the root of Sam knowing Spencer. Is your mind boggled yet? It will be.
Freddie: Spencer’s sculptures are the best.
Carly: Yeah, but we’ve all told him that and he won’t believe us.
Sam: Maybe he needs to hear it from a few more people.
This is the part of the episode where they come up with the awesome plan to show Spencer’s artwork on iCarly to get people to compliment him to make him feel better. Wait, did I say “them”? I meant Sam. This is ALL Sam. Both Carly and Freddie flounder – Sam is the one who is saving Spencer here.
Spencer: … because I got myself a new job.
Sam: Like a real job?
Carly: You can’t have a real job, you’re Spencer!
Sam: But you’re an artist!
Not to diss Carly, but Sam is the one here who’s actually seeing the big picture. Carly is astounded that Spencer could be normal, and kept pushing the comments – but Sam, Sam makes sure that it’s a “real job” before she freaks out – and then she knows that it’s a big deal because he’s an ARTIST. Not because he’s “Spencer” – but because Spencer is an artist, not anything else, not something else equally abnormal… he’s an artist. I also really like that she’s talking to him and it’s not a collective kind of thing. Sam and Carly are pleading with him on different lengths – and Sam’s … it’s like hers makes more sense, and has a higher chance of working. Sam is very tuned in to Spencer this episode.
Carly: Why’d he have to be so mean to Spencer?
Sam: Maybe you should go talk to him.
Carly: Who, Joiner?
Sam: Yeah, he’s still in town, right? Isn’t he doing some big “human art sculpture” at the Henshaw warehouse?
Another point for Sam. Another point for here awesome-ness though, is that not only does she have the solutions to Carly’s “Spencer problem” – but she’s actually got a sub-plot of her own regarding not insulting Freddie in this episode. One second she’s freaking out about not being able to insult Freddie and it’s driving her so mad that she randomly slams up against a locker… the next – after she’s told by Carly that her problem is a little more important – Sam is calm in the face of awful-ness and understands how serious it is and is completely logical – and she’s really grown-up when it comes to Spencer in this episode. I love that.
Sam: How would you feel if your hero told you your stuff stunk?
And again, Sam very much fills the “grown-up” role here – Carly goes for sympathy, telling Joiner how hurt Spencer is and pretty much pleading on that note – but Sam, while she does mention Spencer’s ruined confidence (which – note – is not just ‘Spencer is sad’) also says things to relate to Joiner personally – which I believe to be a better tactic, don’t you?
iHatch Chicks
Watch out, folks. Here it is. THE episode. I’m a little tempted to go out of order on my caps – but I’ve been (surprisingly) sequential so far, so I’ll keep with that.
This is the episode that, the first time I saw it was the first time I saw Sam/Spencer. It was just the one moment, but as I re-watched the episode many, many times the moments grew and grew – some more important than others, but all of them enjoyable.
This episode makes me very happy. Plus – I think it’s the episode with the most Spencer nudity. Or, well – yeah. Other episodes cannot compare to his nudity here. But I love this episode for other reasons too – don’t worry. Mainly – Sam/Spencer.
Sam: I love hobos. Hey, why don’t we do our project on hobos?
*g* One of these episodes Sam and Spencer are going to have some bonding time about hobos. I just know it.
SPENCER. IN. A. TOWEL. Walking toward them, holding a baby chick. Spam-y? Not really.Sexy? Yes. Highly attractive and drool inducing… yes. :D
Spencer: I picked him up, thinking he was a bar of soap. Good thing I realized before…
Sam: =o … O.O
Spencer: Nevermind.
Does anyone else notice this look? The innuendo? EVERY SINGLE TIME? Carly keeps looking at Spencer’s face (as a good sister should) but Sam’s eyes… drift. And you just KNOW that she is thinking about exactly what that baby chick would have went through. In a very visual way. I think she actually checks Spencer out in a towel quite often, but this time we get to see it. (OH but if I would go out of order here… but I shan’t.) Anywho – major check-out here by Sam. And Spencer realizes that it’s awkward, and giving Sam ideas/images –ergo his “nevermind”. Or he was going to say something a little more graphic than just “tried to use him as soap” – which makes my heart happy and I’m still right.

THIS. THIS RIGHT HERE. THIS MOMENT. If you want to know why I ship Sam/Spencer… THIS IS WHY. THIS!
There have been many moments and therefore more points to my case – but THIS is where it all started with me. And I think the first moment of a ship for shippers says a lot. If you can remember it, or why you started shipping. This is pivotal for me. And I’m really happy it’s this. XD Okay, sentimental note over. Sorry – I had to.
This falls under the category of “Spencer expects better of Sam” or “Spencer enjoys Sam’s humor unless it’s negative about him” – and it’s probably one of the most clearly seen. I distinctly remember wondering why on earth Spencer would be hurt with that comment. Sam has been a lot meaner to people just as close to her if not closer. But Spencer – he gets this really hurt expression on his face, and everything just stops for a second. He doesn’t want Sam to be that mean – even though he knows that’s just who she is – and he especially doesn’t want her to be mean to him because he values her opinion of him. He wants her to think well of him – and this is just one of those instances (there was even VERY recent canon attesting to this fact too).

Spencer: Okay, that was close.

This? This is also adorable and it’s like – Sam and Spencer banter. Plus, it has the whole mean/hurt aspect to it also, which I like. And really – the stare-off is one of the best parts. Spencer is still pouty, and Sam is almost challenging him, like they’re still trying to figure each other out, but they’re still inexplicably drawn to each other at the same time… yeah. Moments like these remind that, no – I don’t just like them together because they’re both so freaking attractiveand they would have amazing, hot sex and make adorable babies.
*Freddie accidentally pulls Spencer’s pants off*
Spencer: Did my pants come off?
Kids: Yeah.
Spencer: Please tell me I’m wearing underwear!
Carly: You’re good!
Kids: *mumble agreement*
Sam: *looks on, interested*
I want to know how many other people actually notice/noticed this. It’s very possible this is just Jennette, which would make me happy too… but really. Just look at her face. She’s amused and interested about Spencer without pants on. Then when he asked if he has underwear on she looks, but instead of just barely looking and looking disgusted, she doesn’t make it too obvious to look, but a she does, and she >enjoys it. Mhmm. That says something.
Side-note: Duke! Look at Duke. It is the SAME GUY who is now playing either Nikko or Grady on Sonny With A Chance. I’m very happy he got a role where he gets to be in the credits, because I think he’s fabulous. This also underlines the idea that SWaC seems like it should be on Nick. This isn’t the only time he’s been on iCarly, y’know. He’s great. :D Nick/Disney cross-overs. Doesn’t it just blow your mind?
… It’s cute. What? I’m allowed to be a little shallowand ridiculously bias. :)
iGot a Detention
This doesn’t really have anything to do with… well, anything – but the staging/blocking/whatever you want to call it always makes me say, hmm – can I turn this into something Spam-related or not? I’m still not sure – but it’s a fun cap, and I thought the perfect way to end part two of my picspam. :D
This intrigues me because imagine your best friend has a brother – even if he’s not older than you, or younger than you… would you feel comfortable in a bikini squished next to him? Plus – it’s impossible to cap, and it could be a Jerry-Jennette thing, but there is giggling and laughing, and I’m pretty sure that Spencer looks at Sam and then away, and then she looks at him, and it’s fun.

1 - This is very, very true.
2- See? I told you Sam knew Spencer. Or, wait – did I? Well – now I have. Sam knows Spencer. And Carly’s idea to call up Harry Joiner is because of this. So really – this episode comes from the root of Sam knowing Spencer. Is your mind boggled yet? It will be.
Freddie: Spencer’s sculptures are the best.
Carly: Yeah, but we’ve all told him that and he won’t believe us.
Sam: Maybe he needs to hear it from a few more people.
This is the part of the episode where they come up with the awesome plan to show Spencer’s artwork on iCarly to get people to compliment him to make him feel better. Wait, did I say “them”? I meant Sam. This is ALL Sam. Both Carly and Freddie flounder – Sam is the one who is saving Spencer here.
Spencer: … because I got myself a new job.
Sam: Like a real job?
Carly: You can’t have a real job, you’re Spencer!
Sam: But you’re an artist!
Not to diss Carly, but Sam is the one here who’s actually seeing the big picture. Carly is astounded that Spencer could be normal, and kept pushing the comments – but Sam, Sam makes sure that it’s a “real job” before she freaks out – and then she knows that it’s a big deal because he’s an ARTIST. Not because he’s “Spencer” – but because Spencer is an artist, not anything else, not something else equally abnormal… he’s an artist. I also really like that she’s talking to him and it’s not a collective kind of thing. Sam and Carly are pleading with him on different lengths – and Sam’s … it’s like hers makes more sense, and has a higher chance of working. Sam is very tuned in to Spencer this episode.
Carly: Why’d he have to be so mean to Spencer?
Sam: Maybe you should go talk to him.
Carly: Who, Joiner?
Sam: Yeah, he’s still in town, right? Isn’t he doing some big “human art sculpture” at the Henshaw warehouse?
Another point for Sam. Another point for here awesome-ness though, is that not only does she have the solutions to Carly’s “Spencer problem” – but she’s actually got a sub-plot of her own regarding not insulting Freddie in this episode. One second she’s freaking out about not being able to insult Freddie and it’s driving her so mad that she randomly slams up against a locker… the next – after she’s told by Carly that her problem is a little more important – Sam is calm in the face of awful-ness and understands how serious it is and is completely logical – and she’s really grown-up when it comes to Spencer in this episode. I love that.
Sam: How would you feel if your hero told you your stuff stunk?
And again, Sam very much fills the “grown-up” role here – Carly goes for sympathy, telling Joiner how hurt Spencer is and pretty much pleading on that note – but Sam, while she does mention Spencer’s ruined confidence (which – note – is not just ‘Spencer is sad’) also says things to relate to Joiner personally – which I believe to be a better tactic, don’t you?

Watch out, folks. Here it is. THE episode. I’m a little tempted to go out of order on my caps – but I’ve been (surprisingly) sequential so far, so I’ll keep with that.
This is the episode that, the first time I saw it was the first time I saw Sam/Spencer. It was just the one moment, but as I re-watched the episode many, many times the moments grew and grew – some more important than others, but all of them enjoyable.
This episode makes me very happy. Plus – I think it’s the episode with the most Spencer nudity. Or, well – yeah. Other episodes cannot compare to his nudity here. But I love this episode for other reasons too – don’t worry. Mainly – Sam/Spencer.
Sam: I love hobos. Hey, why don’t we do our project on hobos?
*g* One of these episodes Sam and Spencer are going to have some bonding time about hobos. I just know it.
SPENCER. IN. A. TOWEL. Walking toward them, holding a baby chick. Spam-y? Not really.
Spencer: I picked him up, thinking he was a bar of soap. Good thing I realized before…
Sam: =o … O.O
Spencer: Nevermind.
Does anyone else notice this look? The innuendo? EVERY SINGLE TIME? Carly keeps looking at Spencer’s face (as a good sister should) but Sam’s eyes… drift. And you just KNOW that she is thinking about exactly what that baby chick would have went through. In a very visual way. I think she actually checks Spencer out in a towel quite often, but this time we get to see it. (OH but if I would go out of order here… but I shan’t.) Anywho – major check-out here by Sam. And Spencer realizes that it’s awkward, and giving Sam ideas/images –ergo his “nevermind”. Or he was going to say something a little more graphic than just “tried to use him as soap” – which makes my heart happy and I’m still right.

There have been many moments and therefore more points to my case – but THIS is where it all started with me. And I think the first moment of a ship for shippers says a lot. If you can remember it, or why you started shipping. This is pivotal for me. And I’m really happy it’s this. XD Okay, sentimental note over. Sorry – I had to.
This falls under the category of “Spencer expects better of Sam” or “Spencer enjoys Sam’s humor unless it’s negative about him” – and it’s probably one of the most clearly seen. I distinctly remember wondering why on earth Spencer would be hurt with that comment. Sam has been a lot meaner to people just as close to her if not closer. But Spencer – he gets this really hurt expression on his face, and everything just stops for a second. He doesn’t want Sam to be that mean – even though he knows that’s just who she is – and he especially doesn’t want her to be mean to him because he values her opinion of him. He wants her to think well of him – and this is just one of those instances (there was even VERY recent canon attesting to this fact too).

Spencer: Okay, that was close.
Sam: Yeah, you almost made a baby chicken smoothie!

Sam: *stares back at him for a few more seconds*
This? This is also adorable and it’s like – Sam and Spencer banter. Plus, it has the whole mean/hurt aspect to it also, which I like. And really – the stare-off is one of the best parts. Spencer is still pouty, and Sam is almost challenging him, like they’re still trying to figure each other out, but they’re still inexplicably drawn to each other at the same time… yeah. Moments like these remind that, no – I don’t just like them together because they’re both so freaking attractive
*Freddie accidentally pulls Spencer’s pants off*
Spencer: Did my pants come off?
Kids: Yeah.
Spencer: Please tell me I’m wearing underwear!
Carly: You’re good!
Kids: *mumble agreement*
Sam: *looks on, interested*
I want to know how many other people actually notice/noticed this. It’s very possible this is just Jennette, which would make me happy too… but really. Just look at her face. She’s amused and interested about Spencer without pants on. Then when he asked if he has underwear on she looks, but instead of just barely looking and looking disgusted, she doesn’t make it too obvious to look, but a she does, and she >enjoys it. Mhmm. That says something.
Side-note: Duke! Look at Duke. It is the SAME GUY who is now playing either Nikko or Grady on Sonny With A Chance. I’m very happy he got a role where he gets to be in the credits, because I think he’s fabulous. This also underlines the idea that SWaC seems like it should be on Nick. This isn’t the only time he’s been on iCarly, y’know. He’s great. :D Nick/Disney cross-overs. Doesn’t it just blow your mind?

iGot a Detention
This doesn’t really have anything to do with… well, anything – but the staging/blocking/whatever you want to call it always makes me say, hmm – can I turn this into something Spam-related or not? I’m still not sure – but it’s a fun cap, and I thought the perfect way to end part two of my picspam. :D
This intrigues me because imagine your best friend has a brother – even if he’s not older than you, or younger than you… would you feel comfortable in a bikini squished next to him? Plus – it’s impossible to cap, and it could be a Jerry-Jennette thing, but there is giggling and laughing, and I’m pretty sure that Spencer looks at Sam and then away, and then she looks at him, and it’s fun.
