FInally! I've discovered what it is that irks me about Alexis Bledel!!! Woo-hoo!
She's irked me in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, and I couldn't figure out why - because as much as I love Gilmore Girls there have always been times when I was just like - I don't like Rory.
So The Incredible Sinking Lorelais just finished on ABC Family and I finally understand what the difference between actors like Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel is.
Rory was crying into Dean's shoulder (ergh... :P ) and she was having such a hard time because she has to drop a class and she shouldn't have to - because she's the amazing student who is vonderful and all that jazz... And seriously - I am in the perfect position to feel for her. I would feel terrible if I was forced to drop a class when my Grandfather (well, not me, but in GG) took the same course load... but I wasn't empathizing at all! Not in the slightest. I was thinking how stupid she really is when she's talking to Dean on the phone and all this very mean stuff... But in truth I kind of love Rory (maybe not season 4/drop out of Yale Rory... ) at the very least because she's from Amy Sherman Paladiso (I think that's her last name) and GG is amazing.
But then Lorelai - with whom I can't actually relate to - I'm tearing up as she's trying not to cry as she's spilling her guts to Luke on the bench, and the whole episode I feel horrible for her about the fact Michel and Sookie aren't pulling their weight persay in the whole 'opening the inn' fiasco.

That's the difference. Alexis Bledel isn't a good enough (she's not bad) actress to make me feel for her character, there is absolutely no empathy there. But someone like Lauren Graham who is amazing and should have won a best actress for tv thing... makes me feel for her character all the time.
And I'm so glad I finally figured out WHY I dislike AB so much! Now I don't have to feel guilty! :D
